Though equipped with four less cylinders, the Ferrari GTC4Lusso T is in fact more torquey than the V12 variant, albeit with less horsepower. And while it is missing out on Ferrari’s proprietary four-wheel-drive-system, the four-wheel-steering system from the V12 variant is retained, with the added advantage of less weight. Like its predecessor, the GTC4Lusso T is a 4-seater grand tourer with 2 proper rear seats, evident by its nearly 5-metre-long body.
The Bentley Continental GT and the Maserati GranTurismo are perhaps the closest natural rival to the Ferrari, but neither offer the same versatility and practicality as the Ferrari does, one thing that you might not hear very often. With a price tag of RM1.09 million at launch (excluding duties and options), it is priced similarly to the Ferrari’s own mid-engine 488 GTB.
Performance- Ferrari’s award winning 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine requires no further introduction. It is only 0.1 second behind the V12 in the sprint from zero to 100 km/h.
Ride and Handling- Highly sophisticated magnetorheological dampers offers agile handling and superb ride quality.
Exterior Design- It shares a similar imposing front end as the good-looking Ferrari Portofino. Unique shooting-brake body style combines with dynamically chiseled creased line accentuates the muscular stance of the car. There is simply nothing quite like it on the road.
Driver Assistance Technology- The lack of advanced driver assistance tech like lane-keeping assist, automated emergency braking, or even adaptive cruise control makes the car massively outdated compared to the more modern GTs today.
Complicated Steering Wheel- As the steering wheel is the only thing in the cabin that changes direction all the time, the buttons and controls are never where you left them. There is a definite learning curve, and it is not ideal for what is supposed to be a comfortable GT.
