BMW X5 – Overview BMW Malaysia has made quite an impact with the BMW X5 series with the introduction of the previous-generation X5 Hybrid back in 2016. Thanks to generous incentives under the Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) classification and other corporate-led investments, the F15-generation X5 could be had under RM 390,000, a significant reduction compared to the 3.0-litre-engined variant priced at over RM 570,000. The sales success created by the plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) convinced BMW Malaysia that PHEV powertrain is well-accepted and also the direction forward for the brand in Malaysia. The new-generation G05 X5 xDrive45e M Sport was introduced after the launch of the petrol-only xDrive40i in 2020. The initial first batch of BMW X5 2020 was imported from BMW USA located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA. Thanks to the experience in negotiating on the pricing of locally-assembled hybrid models, the xDrive45e M Sport has a price of RM 434,377.45 in Malaysia, much lower than the xDrive40i at RM 618,800, which has its importation from BMW USA discontinued since. Direct competitor with electrified BMW X5 is the Volvo XC90 T8, priced from RM 391,150 while the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 has seen its price reduced to RM 475,501 after switching to local-assembly. The fully-imported Audi Q7 3.0TFSI meanwhile is priced at RM 599,900. Meanwhile, Lexus only offers the RX300 and it is priced from RM 424,187. BMW Malaysia is also the biggest supporter of building and expanding the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Malaysia through their partnership with ChargEV. As of April 2021, there are 319 individual charging points with a mix of 3.7 kW or 22 kW power delivery.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe
RM 469,888
Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé Overview Few other creations in the motoring world divides opinion more than the inception of the Coupé SUV. Pioneered by the BMW X6, the idea of trimming off the roof from a practical SUV for a more desirable coupé-like silhouette is nothing short of an abomination to some, but well received by many others. Automakers, including Mercedes-Benz, soon jumps onto the band wagon of the niche Coupé SUV segment, first with the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé, which made its appearance in the Jurassic World movie, and soon with the smaller Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé. In 2019, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduced the facelifted C253 GLC Coupé in the sole GLC 300 Coupé AMG Line trim. Based on the same platform that underpins the Mercedes-Benz GLC, the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé is essentially the SUV equivalent to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupé, with two extra rear doors. Locally assembled in Malaysia, the facelifted model features revised exterior and updated interior equipment. Prices starts from RM 403,536 (OTR without insurance and 0 % sales tax) and rivals the likes of BMW X4, Audi Q5 Sportback and the Range Rover Evoque. In June 2022, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia introduced a PHEV into this line of cars. The Mercedes-Benz GLC 300e 4MATIC Coupe is similarly put together in Pekan, and following the end of SST exemptions, is priced at RM398,888, while the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupe AMG Line is now priced at RM426,888.

Porsche Macan
RM 433,154 - 786,232
Porsche Macan – Overview Officially codenamed Type 95B, the current Porsche Macan is still in its first generation. Its underpinnings are the same as the first-gen Audi Q5 (which is now in its second-generation), which means that the platform is a little dated. An all-new Macan is reported to be coming soon in 2022, which will adopt the nomenclature of the Taycan. As a final hurrah for the current widely popular Macan, it has been given a facelift in 2019. The updates are a welcome refresh – a light strip joining the tail-lights like on the Panamera and 911, an adjusted running gear for efficiency, and every variant received a slight revision too. The new base model Macan is slightly down in power with the EA888 engine, from 255 PS to 252 PS, while 370 Nm of twist remains unchanged, but the engine is more efficient. The updated Macan S now gets a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 with 354 PS and 480 Nm of torque, as opposed to the old one with a 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6 with 344 PS and 460 Nm. The facelifted GTS now has a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 that makes 380 PS and 520 Nm of torque. The previous version had 364 PS and 460 Nm from a 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6. The new GTS is also 15 mm lower than any other variant. The engine of the S makes 440 PS and 550 Nm of torque in the facelifted range-topping Turbo. The previous one had a 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6 with 400 PS and 550 Nm (446 PS and 600 Nm with the optional Performance Pack).
