    Toyota has introduced the all-new 2021 Toyota Sienna to the North American Market, featuring an all-new design with a whole host of new technologies and features.

    Distant American cousin to the Toyota Estima, the Toyota Sienna is North America’s very own version of Toyota’s 7-seater (or 8-seater depending on configuration) MPV, or the minivan as the Americans call it. It goes up against competitions like the Honda Odyssey, Ford Galaxy (Ford S-Max), Volkswagen Sharan and the Chrysler Pacifica in the states.

    The new massive lower grille resembles the one found on the Toyota Camry and similarity does not just stop there. They now share Toyota’s raved TNGA-K platform with improved stability and rigidity.

    1. Practicality- Interior cabin is spacious and can sit up to 8 (depending on configuration). Dual power sliding door with optional hands-free function allows for easy access in and out of the vehicle. Super-long-slide second row seats allow seats to slide back for enhanced comfort or move up to make more room for cargo.
    2. Fuel Consumption- The combined fuel economy is impressive for an MPV of this size thanks to the hybrid powertrain which strikes a great balance between performance and efficiency. Driving modes available like the ECO mode and EV mode helps too.
    3. Features- Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 comes as standard across all variants. The available all-wheel-drive system boosts confidence when driving in the rain or snow.
    1. Interior material- SofTex® or synthetic leather does not ‘breathe’ as well as fabric or genuine leather. It can be rather uncomfortable to the occupants especially during hot day.
    2. Handling- Despite being on the same underpinnings as the Toyota Camry, do not expect the same level of handling capability as its sedan counterpart. Being a tall MPV with a high centre of gravity, extreme spirited driving is not advisable in any circumstances. There is however a Sport-Tuned Suspension option available only on the XSE variant. But
    3. Regenerative braking- The regenerative braking designed to recharge the hybrid system’s battery can be a touch grabby at low speeds, such as when parking. There is definitely room for improvement in terms of calibration and refinement.
