Toyota Vios
The facelifted 2021 Toyota Vios brings with it a completely refreshed look, with a wholly-redesigned front fascia that flows smoothly into the rest of the car's design. The facelift also heralds a new variant, bringing a total of four that are offered now: J, E, G and GR Sport. You can read the buying guide here.
The new variant is called the Vios GR Sport. It looks a bit different, with a front bumper that now wears the GR family face, a bespoke bodykit and sporty 17-inch wheels. Alongside the exterior updates, there's been interior refinements too by way of GR-specific, red accents all around.
The interior gets slightly retouched too, now featuring dark grey trim in place of silver ones. Variant-specific features include 60:40 split-folding rear seats, leather seats, paddle shifters and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
New to the Vios is the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) ADAS suite that is available on the E, G, and GR-S variants.
Performance wise, every variant keeps the same 2NR-FE/CVT powertrain combo, good for 107 PS and 140 Nm. The GR-S gets a remapped CVT (now with 10 virtual ratios), and sports suspension.
With a price range of RM 74k (J), RM 82k (E), RM 87k (G) and RM 95k (GR-S), the Vios goes head-to-head with the similarly-priced Honda City and Nissan Almera.

2021 Toyota Vios Overview
Contrary to popular belief, the 2019 Toyota Vios is not a new generation but a much needed major update that finally put the car back in contention as the top-selling B-segment sedan where the Honda City dominated. Out was the plain empty shell of a car, and in was a young futuristic design packed to the brim with 7 airbags, Blind-spot monitor and Panoramic View Monitor.
