[WapCar] With the development of technology, human-machine interaction has also undergone great changes. In addition to the common physical buttons, touch buttons and voice control, many vehicles are now equipped with the gesture operations. That is, the webcam and sensor receive the gesture operations, and then turn on the corresponding vehicle functions.
Working principle
"Gesture Control System" emits light through the 3D webcam above the central console, and analyzes the changes in gestures based on the time difference between light emission and receiving the equipment. The finally obtained data will be transmitted to the control unit of the vehicle system, and the control unit will call up the function corresponding to the recognised gesture, and then match the preset gesture in the system to issue the corresponding operation instruction.
Since measuring the time difference of light propagation requires extremely high-precision equipment, this technology has very high requirements for the hardware, and at present, this technology is called "TOF" (Time of Flight") in the industry. In addition, this technology also reserves a user-defined gesture control action in the system, and the user can make personalized gesture settings by tapping in the air with index finger and middle finger.
Although the gesture operation has certain convenience, there are still problems in the actual application such as accuracy, recognition range, use efficiency and the substitution of traditional interactions, which need to be further strengthened.
