[WapCar] Child safety seat is a seat designed specifically to protect children from injury or death during vehicle collisions. The main fixing methods of child safety seats are divided into three types: European standard ISO FIX fixing method, American standard LATCH fixing method and seat belt fixing method.
European Standard ISO FIX Fixing Method
ISO FIX(International Standards Organization FIX) is the international standard for attachment points for child safety seats in passenger cars, and it is also a common standard implemented in Europe since 1990. In the EU two "alligator-like" clips connect the seat to the lower anchors, there are also various installation categories: "universal", "vehicle-specific" and "semi-universal".
American Standard LATCH Fixing Method
Since September 2002, the United States has stipulated that almost all types of cars must provide LATCH(Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) system child safety seat fixing methods.
The difference with ISO FIX is the open clip style connectors commonly used in the United States. ISOFIX is compatible with LATCH, the seat with the LATCH interface can also be installed with the seat with the ISOFIX interface, but the child safety seat with the LATCH interface cannot be used with the ISOFIX interface.
Seat Belt Fixing Method
The benefits of using safety belts to secure child safety seats are obvious: universal, as long as there is a seat belt. However, this fixing method is often easy to loosen, and it is necessary to frequently check whether the seat is firm.
