Priced from RM 327k, the W213 Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift is here to battle the 5 Series LCI

German-spec Avantgarde model shown

Following its debut in markets around this region, the new 2021 W213 Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift is launching in Malaysia real soon, as brochures of said model have surfaced.

For the Malaysian market, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) will be offering two variants at launch, namely the E200 Avantgarde and the E300 AMG Line. Both are locally-assembled (CKD) at Mercedes-Benz’s Pekan facility.

Prices start from RM 326,943 for the E200 Avantgarde, while the E300 AMG Line is priced at RM 375,432. Both prices are inclusive of the ongoing SST discounts and are valid until 31-December.

These prices put the new W213 E-Class slightly below the recently-launched G30 BMW 5 Series LCI.

Both E-Class variants are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine with varying output levels. The E200 does 197 PS and 320 Nm, while the E300 offers 258 PS and 370 Nm. Both get a nine-speed automatic that sends power to the rear wheels.

Equipment-wise, the E200 gets the Avantgarde styling pack, LED headlights, 18-inch five twin-spoke alloy wheels, power-adjustable front seats, MBUX infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist (AEB), and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

As for the E300, this variant gets the AMG Line exterior pack, Multibeam LED headlights, larger 19-inch AMG alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, 360-degree camera, and Active Distance Assist (ACC), Active Lane Keeping Assist (LKA).

The E300’s infotainment system has also been upgraded compared to the E200, as it gets a hard disc navigation system with live traffic information, Burmester sound system, and a wireless charging pad.
