China’s Haval H6 Hybrid’s powertrain mirrors its Thai counterpart, featuring a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor. Combined system output is 243 PS and 530 Nm.

As for the plug-in hybrid, its combined system output is 326 PS and 530 Nm. The Chinese Haval H6 PHEV is available with two electric range – 55 km and 110 km. Both variants are equipped with Haval’s 2-speed DHT transmission.

The rest of the Chinese-spec Haval H6 Hybrid is identical to its petrol siblings, featuring a massive 10.25-inch infotainment display and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It also comes with firmware over-the-air updates (FOTA).

Like the Thai-spec H6 Hybrid, the Chinese-spec one also gets the full L2 ADAS features, such as adaptive cruise control (ACC), traffic sign recognition (TSR), lane keep assist (LKA), and Wisdom Dodge System (WDS), the latter detects and automatically controls the H6 to keep a fixed distance from large-size vehicles, such as trucks, in adjacent lane while overtaking and automatically steer the vehicle back to its original track after passing them.

What about Malaysia?

Different Haval H6 variant that we spotted

During the launch of the Haval brand in Malaysia, we spotted the Haval H6 PHEV parked in a car park, hinting that Haval has plans to introduce this specific variant here.

The regular, non-hybrid version of the Haval H6 was also seen in the same vicinity, so it’s possible that Haval may offer at least 2 variants of the C-segment SUV when it arrives here.
