The Jaecoo J6 will be showcased at the upcoming Malaysia Autoshow 2024 in its right-hand drive configuration. Also known as the iCar 03, the J6 is part of Chery’s portfolio under the iCar sub-brand. For export markets, it uses the J6 name.

The Jaecoo J6 features black claddings all around, which is typical for a rugged off-roader. From the rear, it does give off the Land Rover Defender vibe. It also includes electric pop-out door handles, side-hinged tailgate, and roof-mounted solar panels.

The J6 measures 4,406 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,715 mm in height, with wheelbase of 2,715 mm. For context, the Suzuki Jimny 5-Door measures 3,985 mm in length, 1,645 mm in width, and 1,720 mm in height, all enveloping a 2,590 mm wheelbase.

The J6 features some design differences from the iCar 03, including its own grille, absence of an illuminated ‘i’ logo on the lighting units, and the presence of a rear storage box. The RHD version debuting in Malaysia will include this storage box and the iCar 03’s grille design.

While full specifications of the Jaecoo J6 are yet to be released, it is expected to share the same underpinnings as the iCar 03. In China, the iCar 03 offers rear- or all-wheel drive electric motor options with up to 279 PS of power. It features a 69.8-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery from CATL, providing a range of up to 501 km per the CLTC standard.
