Jetour is a sub-brand of Chery established in 2018, similar to Jaecoo. At the Beijing Auto Show 2024, Jetour Auto's Vice President, Ke Chuandeng, shed light on the brand's sales momentum and its global expansion strategies in an interview with Automotive News China.
Jetour's global ambitions are evident in its expansion initiatives. With assembly plants in Wuhu, Kaifeng, and Fuzhou, and a network of over 800 dealerships across China, the brand has ventured into international markets, exporting vehicles to over 50 countries, including markets like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Mexico.
Jetour aims to achieve a sales target of 2 million units annually by 2030, with half of the volume originating from markets outside China.

Plans are underway to introduce and assemble right-hand-drive vehicles in Malaysia and Indonesia, expand into Thailand and South Africa this year, and enter the Australian and New Zealand markets by 2025.
Jetour has also embarked on electrification efforts, offering plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions for its petrol models in China since 2023 and planning to introduce them in select Asian Pacific and South American countries this year.
Ke hinted at Jetour's aspirations to enter the European market, aligning its strategy with parent brand Chery's while acknowledging the importance of North America as a crucial market for any global carmaker.
โWe also plan to enter Europe as well, maybe at a time slightly later than Chery,โ Ke said. โBy following Chery, we can learn from its business model and experience in dealing with local regulations,โ he noted.
For Malaysia, Jetour is set to make its official debut at the upcoming Malaysia Autoshow later this month, as indicated by event promotional materials. The brand's presence in Malaysia began with the establishment of its local Facebook page in January, although updates have been scarce since then. Further details will be disclosed in due course.
