WTCA, the distributor for Aion cars in Malaysia, has launched the Aion Y Plus. Available in two variants, prices start from RM 119,800 for the Elite variant to RM 135,800 for the Premium variant.
This Aion Y Plus is powered Aion's proprietary Magazine battery that the company claims to be the safest in the world. The Magazine Battery, which is a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, has a capacity of 63.2 kWh, allowing a WLTP-rated range of up to 430 km. The front-mounted electric motor produces 204 PS and 225 Nm.
As for charging, the Aion Y Plus accepts 6.6 kW AC charging, while DC charging is rated at 80 kW.

On the exterior, the GAC Aion Y Plus features the “Angel's Wing” headlights with 7 horizontal light bars, creating a unique appearance on the road.
It’s underpinned by GAC’s Aion Electric Platform (AEP2.0), a dedicated EV platform. This platform boasts an extended body, featuring a long wheelbase at 2,750 mm, and a spacious flat floor for rear passengers.

The front seats have the ability to recline fully, transforming into a 1.8-metre-wide double bed. Rear passengers are treated to generous legroom, measuring up to 1,022 mm.
Standard features include 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay connectivity, and automatic climate control with rear air vents.

The premium variant adds powered tailgate, driver seat ventilation, power-adjustable passenger seat, wireless charging, and 32-colour ambient lighting.
As for safety, the Aion Y Plus comes with the full suite of ADAS that enables Level 2 semi-autonomous driving. Included are Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go and Intelligent Cruise Assist, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) with Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and Traffic Jam Assist (TJA).

The Aion Y Plus is covered by an 8-year/160,000 km vehicle warranty, 8-year/200,000 km warranty for the high-voltage battery, drive motor, and electric control warranty.
