Perodua is gearing up to showcase its first electrified (xEV) powertrain technology at the upcoming Malaysia Autoshow 2024, as teased by a promotional image. This aligns with the report by RHB Investment Bank back in late 2022, which anticipated Perodua's debut of its first hybrid (HEV) in 2024.
While Perodua previously introduced the Ativa Hybrid, available on a trial basis, this upcoming display promises something more substantial. Perodua mentioned that its first-ever hybrid offering will coincide with a full model revamp, ruling out the Ativa as a candidate.

Examining the image closely reveals a semi-transparent depiction of a Myvi, though its role as a mere template remains uncertain. The image also reveals a floor-mounted battery, which hints at advancements beyond the Ativa Hybrid.
Should the hatchback silhouette turn out to be merely a template, another speculation is Perodua’s upcoming the B-segment SUV, codenamed D66B.
The D66B shares ties with the Toyota Yaris Cross and in Indonesia, the Yaris Cross is available with a hybrid variant that packs 1.5 litre 4-cylinder engine with 91 PS/121 Nm and an electric motor that is rated at 80 PS/141 Nm.
While these are currently speculations, further details will be revealed as the event draws near. Stay tuned to WapCar.my for the latest updates.
