Perodua has clocked 88,537 units sold in the third quarter of this year (Q3 2023), a 28.3 percent improvement over the same period last year (69,011 in Q3 2022), credited to a boost in production and the Perodua Bezza's reigning status as the brand's best-seller.
This also means that Perodua has sold 233,227 units in the first nine months of 2023, an 18.7 percent improvement over the 196,354 units this time last year. Of those, the Bezza reigns supreme as the brand's best seller, followed by the Axia, and then the Myvi.

Improvements to production efficiency across its plants is credited to the carmaker's sustained growth, as the Rawang-based carmaker has manufactured 91,528 cars in Q3 2023 – 21.7 percent better than 75,196 in Q3 2022.
Year-to-date, it has produced 245,341 units as of September 2023, a 18.6 percent jump from the 206,837 units in the same period last year.

“The third quarter of 2023 is our starting point in terms of increasing monthly production above 30,000 units per month as supplies of raw materials and parts can now catch up with demand,” said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
“This increase in production shows the potential of the Malaysian automotive ecosystem as they further improve their economies of scale without sacrificing quality and cost efficiency,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the company also posted growth in terms of month-on-month comparision: Perodua registered 28,995 units in September 2023, 17.7 percent better than the 24,626 units it mustered in September 2022.
Production also saw an increase of 8.2 percent since September 2022; 31,447 cars were made in September 2023 compared to the 29,077 units in the same month last year.
The company also said that these improvements mean that Perodua is on track to posting its best fourth quarter yet in terms of production and sales, and its on the way to achieve its sales target of 314,000 units this year.
