One week after launching the Proton S70 on 28-November, Proton says it has since collected over 3,000 bookings for its latest C-segment size / B-segment price sedan.

Bookings for the Proton S70 were first opened on 21-November, garnering over 1,200 bookings one week before its launch. Proton says it is now averaging around 900 bookings per week.

The Proton S70 is offered in 4 variants, priced as below:

• 1.5 Executive - RM 73,800
• 1.5 Premium - RM 79,800
• 1.5 Flagship - RM 89,800
• 1.5 Flagship X - RM 94,800

All variants of the Proton S70 are powered by a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 150 PS / 226 Nm, paired to a 7-speed wet-type dual-clutch automatic transmission. It’s the same powertrain fitted to lower range variants of the Proton X50, the non-TGDI ones without direct injection.

Although the Proton S70 is based on the Chinese market Geely Emgrand, the Tanjung Malim-made Proton benefits from a turbocharged engine and a full suite of advance driving assistance (ADAS) features.
