The all-new 2024 MINI Countryman has been launched at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024. The third-generation 'maxi-MINI' hits the Malaysian market with the introduction of the first fully battery electric (BEV) MINI Countryman SE ALL4 and engine-powered MINI JCW Countryman ALL4 performance variant. 

Prices are estimated for now, as follows:

• MINI Countryman SE ALL4: RM 260,000
• MINI JCW Countryman ALL4: RM 399,000

Prices are on the road (OTR), without insurance, inclusive of the standard 2-year warranty package. The extended warranty package will cost a premium of RM 7,400 and RM 12,100 for the SE ALL4 variants and JCW ALL4 variants respectively. Deliveries are slated to begin in Q3 2024. 

Prices are slightly higher than the outgoing model; the base (F60) Cooper S Countryman was previously priced at RM 260,788 inclusive of the extended warranty and service package, the JCW Countryman range-topper was pegged at RM 401,658 inclusive of the aforementioned package. 

MINI Countryman SE ALL4

The MINI Countryman SE ALL4 is the first fully battery electric BEV model equipped dual-motor AWD powertrain that delivers 313 PS and 494 Nm of torque. Energy is supplied by a 66.5 kWh battery, which provides a max driving range of up to 432 km.

In terms of performance, the SE ALL4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 180 km/h.

The vehicle supports AC charging at up to 22 kW and DC fast charging at up to 130 kW, the latter enabling a 10-80% charge in just 30 minutes. 

As for design, the MINI Countryman SE ALL4 features a minimalist design language this time around. The exterior features a new octagonal vehicle grille flanked by LED adaptive headlights with a high-beam assistant. The SE ALL4 is equipped with 20-inch Windmill Spoke wheels in a 2-tone finish. 

Inside, the SE ALL4 features a two-tone interior made from recycled polyester fabric for the dashboard and door cladding, emphasizing MINI’s commitment to sustainability.

The new model offers nearly 30 mm of extra width in the shoulder and elbow areas, complemented by a wide central armrest. The seats are upholstered in high-quality Vescin vegan leather, available in Vintage Brown or Dark Petrol.

The luggage capacity of the MINI Countryman SE ALL4 stands at 460 litres, which can be expanded to 1,350 litres by folding down the rear seats. 

In terms of equipment the SE ALL4 features the MINI Interaction Unit, a 240mm in diameter, round OLED display measuring infotainment unit. The display operates on the new MINI Operating System 9 and includes the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant, which supports voice-controlled navigation and other vehicle functions.

The infotainment system is further enhanced by the MINI Connected Package, offering access to a variety of apps and services.

MINI JCW Countryman ALL4

Topping the range is the MINI JCW Countryman ALL4 which boasts a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 300 PS and 400 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed double-clutch automatic transmission. 

The 0 to 100 km/h dash is despatched in just 5.4 seconds onto a top speed 250 km/h. The JCW ALL4 also features adaptive suspension.

Elsewhere, the exterior design includes sporty elements such as red roof and mirror caps, a high-gloss black grille frame, and 20-inch JCW Flag Spoke wheels with sport tires. These features give the vehicle a more distinctive and aggressive look.

Inside, the seats are upholstered in perforated Vescin material in JCW Black with Red and Grey accents, providing both comfort and style. The interior also includes an Anthracite colored accent fabric strip and a JCW-specific pattern in red.

The luggage capacity of the JCW Countryman ALL4 is 505 litres, expandable to 1,530 litres with the rear seats folded down. 

Safety equipment

Both the SE ALL4 and JCW Countryman ALL4 come with advanced safety and driver assistance features. The Driving Assistant package includes Lane Keep Assist, Manual Speed Limit Assist, Avoidance Assistance, Collision Warning, Junction Warning, Lane Change Warning (Blind Spot), Exit Warning, and pedestrian and cyclist warning with City Brake function.

In addition, the Parking Assistant Plus package offers Park Assist, Reversing Assistant, Active Park Distance Control, and 360-degree camera.

Both models are also equipped with the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant for voice command options and MINI App provides remote functions such as engine start, climate control, and vehicle status updates.

Both models are also available with MINI Malaysia’s 5-Year Roadside Assistance program, which includes comprehensive services such as free towing, replacement vehicles, and mobility solutions.
