Special edition Geely Preface Spacetime sends you to space with sportier looks

The Geely Preface is one of the more stylish cars in Geely stables, but designers still saw fit to spruce up the sedan with a special space theme. Known as the Geely Preface Spacetime, or Geely Xingrui Spacetime as the car is known in China, the special edition sedan drops the sophisticated tuxedo for a sportier, more aggressive feel.

From what we understand, the Spacetime edition comes only in 1 colour, translated as Magnetic Field Pulse. It’s an ashy grey colour with blue undertones that brings on outer space vibes.

Other than that, the chrome bits have been replaced with matte black pieces. The side mirror also comes painted black instead of following the car’s body colour while bright red brake callipers peep out from between the slightly different dual-tone wheels.

The rear end gets an extra piano-black spoiler while quad-exhaust pipes complete the overall sportier look.

On the inside, Geely further emphasises the space theme with black Alcantara leather covering the length of the dashboard, door panels, and also the gear shift.

Meanwhile, the Spacetime gets mixed smooth black leather and Alcantara seats that looks like it could be Captain Picard’s next captain’s chair in the startship Enterprise.

A shot of neon green stitching (Geely calls it Aurora green) and bright yellow seatbelts add a pop of colour to the all-black interior. Even the CMA text printed on the seatbacks are finished in neon green.

Under the bonnet, everything remains the same. The Preface Spacetime will still be powered by a 2.0TD turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The engine produces 190 PS and 300 Nm.

Two variants are available on sale with prices starting from RMB 132,700 (RM 85k) to RMB 152,700 (RM 98k). It is slightly pricier than the standard Geely Preface which starts off at RMB 113,700 (RM 71k).

We’re liking the overall sporty space look, what do you think?
