Subaru Malaysia is represented by Motor Image Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tan Chong International Limited and the distributor of Subaru vehicles in Malaysia. They were established in 1986 and is headquartered in Singapore. In July 2011, a partnership was established with Subaru Corporation for the production of Subaru vehicles at a CKD assembly plant in Segambut, Malaysia. The plant currently assembles the Subaru XV and Forester while other models such as the Outback, Levorg, WRX, and BRZ are fully imported from Japan.
