![Subaru BRZ (ZD8) production ceased in Japan, facelift to debut this year? 01]()
Subaru Japan announced that it has stopped production of the second-generation Subaru BRZ. The company stated on its website, "With the end of production for the current model, only dealer inventory will be available. Please contact your dealer for more details."
With the announcement of the BRZ's production cessation on Subaru Japan's official website, it hints at another round of updates. However, the upcoming updates are expected to be minor, even more so than those introduced in September 2023.

The second-generation Subaru BRZ was updated in September 2023, with the introduction the EyeSight driver-assistance system to the 6-speed manual transmission (6MT) variant. This implementation marks a milestone as it is the first time EyeSight has been applied to a manual Subaru vehicle, utilising stereo cameras.
The EyeSight system, already available in the 6-speed automatic transmission (6AT) variant, includes features such as pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and sway warning, lead vehicle start alert, and rear sonar warning.
There were also other minor updates such as the recalibration of the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and adjustments to the sonar warning conditions, extending the activation distance.

The STI Sport variant was introduced, featuring STI-tuned suspension and Hitachi's frequency-responsive dampers for both the front and rear, claimed to deliver a balance of responsive handling and comfortable ride quality, as well as the option for Brembo brakes.
