GoCar needs volunteers for GoVax campaign amidst intensified vaccination effort

Now that the government has ramped up the daily vaccination numbers, GoCar Malaysia is also looking to increase their efforts with their GoVax Heroes programme. The company is now recruiting volunteer drivers to assist with providing free transportation for senior citizens aged 60 years and above as well as persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Since the start of the programme, GoVax has thus far been using volunteers from GoCar Malaysia’s employee pool. Now that vaccination appointments have increased, GoCar found that the demand for the GoVax free shuttle service has increased as well.

Volunteer GoVax Heroes will be assigned a Saturday and Sunday schedule to avoid any clashes in their normal work and weekday routine.

GoCar will also be providing cars for these volunteers to utilise so there is no need to use their own cars. The company will also be covering the petrol and parking fees incurred.

Interested individuals must be between the ages of 18 and 50 and possess a valid Malaysian driver’s license. All they need to do is to drop their personal details here.

GoCar is proud to announce that their GoVax Heroes CSR has been a success since it started on 25-May-2021. They have successfully provided free rides to selected vaccination centres for over 300 senior citizens and PWDs since its launch.

The programme was started in collaboration with Kampung Tunku state assemblyman YB Lim Yi Wei.

Currently, the shuttle service covers Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre, Hospital Shah Alam, Klinik Rakan Medik Petaling Jaya, University Malaysia Medical Centre (UMMC), and Ideal Convention Centre Shah Alam (IDCC).

GoCar will be running the programme until 31-August-2021. Those who require the GoVax shuttle service can either call the 24/7 hotline 1300-30-2633 or make a request via the GoCar mobile app.

Bookings must be made 3 days in advance as drivers are limited. Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Passengers with mobility challenges will need to be accompanied by an experienced caregiver.
