Basic information

2020 Toyota Yaris G-Spec

Reason why I bought this car

I have been married here from Indonesia many years and I have never had my own car to use. I always ask my husband to take me wherever I go. Moreover, my child is going to preschool, it is impossible to ask my husband to take us all the time, because he still has to go to work.

Last year, my husband decided to buy a hatchback car for me to practice driving, also I can take my child to preschool and go wherever I want. We would choose a hatchback car because driving is easier and more convenient, and finally my choice is Toyota Yaris.

Car selection process

The reason why I choose this car

Design sporty, more safety features. The most important thing is TOYOTA gives a good image of durability and less trouble.

User experience

  • I have already done 15,200 km
  • My average fuel consumption is 8~9 L/100km

My Yaris has been driving for a year and I am very satisfied with it. First, the meter is beautiful and has a 4.2inch multi-display screen. Every time I start the engine, Yaris animation will appear on the screen which is very attractive. The air conditioner of Yaris is really cold, especially at night. I have set the temperature to 28'c, still very cold.

The original suspension actually is very comfortable to drive on the road without much bounce just few months, then I changed to air suspension and 17inch sport rims, it will be more stable driving performance, but also have to sacrifice of a little comfort within the acceptable range, now I can set the car height whatever I want just 1 click to the airsus remote or mobile app. The 360 camera is also very useful for newbie drivers like me to park the car will be easier.

The seat is soft and comfortable, but it is fabric and easy to be dusty and dirty. So first I changed the front with a pair of SSCUS sports seats, and then replaced the entire car with leather seats. The SSCUS seats are suitable for my sitting posture, just a little disappointed that it did not support the waist.

Nowadays, many new continental cars do not have their own spare tires, but Yaris even have full size spare tires, which is very important to me. As for the engine power, it is enough for me as aunty for daily use, I just drive cool but not drive fast.

Although the Yaris is a hatchback car, the feeling of sitting in the car won't feel oppressed. I also put a Recaro baby seat in the rear seat for my child's safety. The space in the rear trunk will not be small, I bought a lot of daily products from the supermarket, and put a baby stroller in it, which is enough space for use. And the rear trunk has been re-decorated to show off the Air Sus System with custom hardline design, without affecting the spare tire and trunk space. Moreover, car tools and miscellaneous items can be stored under the partition.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • solid and comfortable
  • air conditioner very cold
  • fuel efficient
  • 360 camera and safety features
  • full size spare tires

Cons

  • headunit don’t have apple carplay and android auto
  • the insulation cotton of the engine hood is not fit, the middle part will fall off and rub against the engine pipe and cause damage.
  • no leather seats

Summary

Yaris is very suitable for anyone to drive, even a newbie driver finds it is easy to handle. Whether the interior space, fuel consumption, safety features etc. It has a good result in the same segment level. Although it is a hatchback car, it is very practical. And the service fee is not expensive.

Some interesting events

Because this is my first car, I always discuss modifications with my husband about how to make my Yaris look more special but not lala style. Now whether interior or exterior modification, it is already what I want. Thanks to my husband for giving me a lot of advice and support.

The most interesting thing is the air suspension. I always air down my Yaris when I park, which often attracts the attention of other people. I also changed the Yaris facelift LED headlights in March this year, and it feels like I made the new car really beautiful! I enjoy and love watching my Yaris quietly, it always makes me excited. If you like my modification, maybe we can talk about my Yaris modification next time.
