Isuzu D-Max No.2 best-selling pick-up in Malaysia; New online virtual showroom

Despite the total lockdown, Isuzu Malaysia is proud to report that they have experienced a surge in bookings for the Isuzu D-Max in the past three months. This has allowed the D-Max to claim the Number 2 best-selling pick-up truck spot, right after the Toyota Hilux.

Isuzu’s newly appointed Light Commercial Vehicle Division Chief Operating Officer, Kenkichi Sogo, said that while they are exhilarated to experience a surge in sales, the ongoing lockdown in Malaysia is still a matter of concern.

To provide potential customers with a safe space to shop for the D-Max, Isuzu Malaysia launched their new virtual online showroom.

Not only will customers be able to check their listings and decide which model best suits their needs, but they will also be able to take a look at the models up close via the 360-degree augmented reality showcase.

Once they’ve decided which model is their preference, they can put in a test drive request via the website. A test drive vehicle will then be brought to them at a safe and convenient location.

With over 500 monthly bookings for the new D-Max since its launch despite the various safety lockdowns, the task in hand will also be to safely hand over the vehicles to the customers.

“Due to the restrictions in operations and the limited amount of logistics activities allowed over the past months, a key initiative will be to safely and efficiently deliver the new vehicles to their owners as quickly as possible.

“We hope all our customers will remain patient and maintain compliance to the set procedures to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all,” added Sogo.

Sogo succeeds Masayuki Suzuki who returns to Japan for his new posting. The former is no stranger to the Malaysian market as he had spent the last four years in Isuzu Malaysia as the General Manager overseeing operations of light commercial vehicle division and parts operations.
