2022 will be a busy year for newly-appointed Peugeot distributor Bermaz Auto Alliance Sdn Bhd (BAASB), as the company has confirmed that they will be launching the Peugeot Landtrek in Malaysia.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the Peugeot Landtrek is set to launch in Malaysia in Q3 2022.

For the uninitiated, the Peugeot Landtrek is essentially a rebadged Changan Kaicene F70, available in two- or four-wheel drive formats. The Landtrek is sold with a turbodiesel 1.9-litre with 152 PS and 350 Nm or a turbocharged 2.4-litre petrol engine with 212 PS and 320 Nm.
With dimensions coming in at 5,330 mm x 1,920 mm x 1,819 mm, the Peugeot Landtrek is aimed squarely at core rivals such as the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max, Mazda BT-50, Mitsubishi Triton, and Nissan Navara.

But the Landtrek isn’t the only Chinese truck that is coming here. Earlier this year, the JMC Vigus Pro made its Malaysian debut with a sub-RM100k price tag.

That said, Malaysia isn't the first right-hand drive market for the Peugeot Landtrek. Said pick-up truck is already offered in right-hand drive format in South Africa, and it will also be offered in Thailand next year.
