Traffic flow to the East Coast using the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway (KLK Expressway) and the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT 1) is expected to spike in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha from 29th July to 2nd August.
The company expects with average daily traffic figures of around 156,000 as people travel across states this weekend.
As such, ANIH Berhad Executive Director, Datuk Nik Fauzi Nik Hussein advises the public to plan their trip by referring to the recommended Travel Time Advisory (TTA) that was published on the company’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
“The TTA is issued to help road users refer to the appropriate travel times before heading down the highway and also helps to control traffic flow,” he said.
Nik Fauzi also mentioned that all facilities in the Rest and Relax (R&R) areas on the expressway will be open. Standard operating procedures (SOP) to ensure compliance to social distancing rules will be in place.
To ensure social distancing rules are kept, the R&Rs will be closed momentarily when it is full. If that happens, road users are advised to find the next available R&R.
Nik Fauzi also advises users to ensure there’s adequate Touch ‘n Go balance as reload services will not be available at toll booths, and customer service at toll plazas will only be open from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.
