The Malaysia-bound Peugeot e-2008 EV SUV has made it one step closer to our shores, having been previewed at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show 2023.
As the name suggests, the 2023 e-2008 is the EV version of the brand's entry-level Peugeot 2008 SUV.

The e-2008 is based on the same CMP platform as the petrol-powered 2008, albeit with a different eCMP moniker, it draws power from a 136 PS / 260 Nm electric motor that drives the front wheels.
Under the WLTP test cycle, the 2023 e-2008 has a range of up to 345 km (up from the 2019 model's 310 km).
As a suitably fast DC charger, the e-2008 will accept up to 100 kW DC taking approximately 30 minutes for a 0 to 80 percent charge.
Regular AC charging using a 7.4 kW or 11 kW wallbox charger will take 8 hours and 5 hours, respectively.
On the inside, the e-2008 features Peugeot's i-Cockpit 3D which includes the company's unique compact steering wheel, a 10-inch HD capacitive touchscreen, and a configurable 3D digital dash.

Driving data is projected onto the 3D digital dash as a hologram, relaying important information such as the driving mode, battery state and drivetrain operation.
The Peugeot e-2008 was initially slated for launch in Malaysia in Q4 of 2022, however, pricing, supply chain and or production issues may have stump plans for the foreseeable future.
The other question left to be answered is if the e-2008 will be fully imported (CBU) or locally assembled (CKD) at Stellantis' facility in Gurun, Kedah alongside the Peugeot 2008 Allure, which retails for RM 134,103.
