Light the candles and spin some party records as the Smart brand is now all grown up, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. From what started out as a study between watch company Swatch and Mercedes-Benz (Swatch Mercedes ART) to fulfill the gap for a small city car, the brand has revived under Geely's purveyorship and now has two all-electric models – the Malaysia-bound #1 and #3.
The occasion is livened by the Smart #3 25th Anniversary Edition, and like most special editions, it comes with its own set of unique touches in and out.
Choice touches include an exterior that while for the most part adapts the Brabus #3's look, now features distinct patterns for the patterns on the lower grille. Kit count extends to CyberSparks LED+ matrix headlights, and 19-inch wheels in an exclusive dual-tone colourway.
Speaking of which, the red-on-white is an individual look for this special edition.
Inside the SUV are variant-specific Duo leather seats in black and white, plus similarly bespoke 'Galaxy' roof with LED embedded lighting details. A 12.8-inch central infotainment display handles the in-car controls, while a 10-inch head-up display add a touch of tech; complemented by the 13-speaker Beats audio system.

It may look like a Brabus but it performs closer to its 'regular' stablemates. Range is a quoted 455 km on the WLTP test cycle (the Brabus does 415 km), courtesy of a 66 kWh lithium nickel cobalt manganese battery (NCM), and a front-mounted electric motor that does 272 PS and 343 Nm.
22 kW AC charging sees it get up to 80% charge from 10% in under 3 hours; 150 kW DC fast charging shortens that to just under half an hour.
