Sepang International Circuit (SIC) has announced that the 2020 edition of the Sepang 1,000 km (S1K) race has been cancelled due to the current Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and tighter SOPs for sporting events.
Citing the permitted number of participants exceeds the amount allowed by the government, the 2020 edition of the Sepang 1,000 km race was originally scheduled to commence from 27-November to 29-November.
SIC says that view public health and safety as a serious matter and decided to cancel the 2020 race to prevent the risk of spread of Covid-19.
Earlier this year, the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix was also cancelled due to the pandemic.
