Sime Darby Beyond Auto, the Malaysian distributor of BYD cars just announced that bookings for the revised 2024 BYD Atto 3 are now open. According to its website, the updated Malaysian-spec Atto 3 is only available with one variant and prices start from RM 150,430 on-the-road without insurance.

In other words, prices for the revised Atto 3 remain the same but that is not the only thing that is unchanged for Malaysia's best-selling battery electric vehicle (BEV).

Instead of a larger battery like the one in Thailand, the lone variant of the Malaysian-spec 2024 Atto 3 is only offered with the same battery capacity as the outgoing Standard variant (49.92 kWh) rather than the bigger 50.25-kWh battery

It is also using the same electric motor as the outgoing Standard variant which produces 204 PS and 310 Nm while range is also unchanged at 410 km.

However, the Malaysian-spec 2024 Atto 3 now comes with a multi-link rear suspension, a wireless charger, and a larger 15.6-inch rotating display. There is no mention of a karaoke function as seen in the Thai-spec Atto 3.

The updated Atto 3 also receives a new look tailgate that only spells out BYD rather than the full meaning behind its name (Build Your Dreams). It also gains a new exterior colour option (Cosmos Black) as well as a new two-tone Black and Dark Blue interior colour.

It’s too early to discount the Malaysia arrival of the revised Extended Range version of the Atto 3 just yet. It might be launched later this year but for now, it seems that only the outgoing Atto 3 is the one to get if you are seeking for an Extended Range variant which starts from RM 168,430.
