Spied: We got up close and personal with the Ora Good Cat in Malaysia

When we reported the spy shots of the Ora Good Cat sent in by Mr Zuhril from Malaysian EV Owners Club (MyEVOC), we mentioned that we also managed to get some pictures of the car ourselves. So, here’s our complete collection of the Ora Good Cat that was parked in Malaysia.

As mentioned, although the Good Cat is here in a non-descript location in Shah Alam, it is merely a test unit hence the left-hand drive configuration.

Ora has yet to release a right-hand drive version of the Good Cat globally. Even the unit on display at the 2021 Bangkok Motor Show has its steering on the left side and bears the China-specific charging socket (GB/T).

To recap, the Good Cat is powered by a permanent magnet electric motor located on the front axle. The motor produces 145 PS and 210 Nm.

There are 2 battery sizes available on the Good Cat, the smaller battery allows the adorable EV a 400 km range. The larger battery, meanwhile, is good for 500 km.

In case you missed it, the Good Cat attributes its good looks to former Porsche designer Emanuel Derta. That explains the very Porsche-esque look and feel of the overall car.

Only, unlike the Porsche 911, we’re sure the shape of the Good Cat would draw the attention of girls rather than guys instead.

Word is that Great Wall Motors' (GWM), Ora's parent company, local representatives will make an announcement soon, so the Good Cat has yet to come with a price tag.

Is it really coming here? Considering how the car is here on our shores and that GWM has taken over the General Motor’s plant in Rayong, Thailand as their right-hand drive production hub, we would say highly likely.

Toyota's Kinto is getting bored, finds a way to make the AH30 Alphard and Vellfire sliding doors close faster

You know how some cars can be truly fantastic except for one minor detail that you just can’t overlook and it ends up ruining the entire driving experience. It could be a terrible head unit or a bad seating position. Well, some of the engineers at Toyota’s Kinto subscription service thought that could be the abysmally slow speed of the sliding doors on the previous AH30 generation of the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Either that or they must be getting really bored over there. Or someone has secr
