Famous for the small racing cars with excellent handling, Lotus has even injected some of its DNA in certain Proton cars. With the Geely Holding Group owning a 51% controlling stake, and Syed Mokhtar’s Etika Automotive owning 49%, Lotus now has access to various platforms and configurations to work with. Rumour has it there even might be a Lotus SUV in the future. Imagine that, an electric SUV by Lotus.
With a history of using Toyota engines, it is no surprise for Lotus to skip the hybrid phase and go straight to electric. We don’t know how Lotus enthusiasts feel about this, but it seems Lotus is set on an all-electric future.
