No turbo, all-new 2023 Lexus LM enters European market as 2.5L hybrid only - 250 PS/239 Nm

Bringing the Toyota Alphard to a global market, its high-flying luxury mover twin, the all-new 2023 Lexus LM will be entering the European market for the first time ever. However, due to the continent’s emissions regulations, the Lexus LM will only be offered a hybrid powertrain.

LM 500h as shown in Shanghai

At its global debut at the ongoing 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, the second-generation Lexus LM is powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine or a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated hybrid 4-cylinder unit. The latter will be making its European entry as the Lexus LM 350h and Lexus Europe has revealed its power output.

The 2.5-litre unit makes 250 PS and 239 Nm combined and is featured on the NX 350h and RX 350h. As standard, the European-spec LM 350h features the E-Four electronic all-wheel drive system. Meanwhile, power figures for the 2.4-litre turbo engine have yet to be revealed.

Both powertrains are expected to also be available on the upcoming all-new Alphard/Vellfire which could debut as early as around the first half of 2023.

The all-new Lexus LM offers a business-class interior and the luxury carmaker has stated that it conducted research with private jet manufacturers during the luxury mover’s development. The all-new LM for Europe is offered with 4- or 7-seat configurations with the 4-seater offering sheer opulence inside.

The 4-seater LM comes with a partition between the front and rear cabin that houses a 48-inch widescreen monitor, glass panel, and 23 Mark Levinson 3D Surround Sound speakers. It also has thermal sensors which help to give rear occupants the perfect level of warmth or cooling via infrared.

The all-new Lexus LM is built on the TNGA-K platform which is also used on the Lexus ES, Lexus RX, and Lexus NX. The luxury mover is also the first Lexus to feature Rear Seat Comfort drive mode which adjusts suspension performance and drive torque distribution to suppress vibration and maintain a comfortable posture for its occupants.

Lexus Europe has not revealed when the all-new LM 350h will make its way into the Old Continent but you can expect it to have a high price tag. The LM will be sold in 60 markets and Malaysia will be one of those markets as the outgoing generation is offered here.

The outgoing Lexus LM is available in Malaysia in one variant, the petrol-powered LM 350 which is priced from RM 1,208,000. It’s an exclusive price for an exclusive Alphard and yet there are some unashamed conversions available in the aftermarket to turn a standard Alphard into a Lexus LM.
