Intro Synergy Sdn. Bhd., the sole distributor of Neta vehicles in Malaysia, will be launching its next car, the Neta X, in the second half of this year.

The Neta X is a 5-seater C-segment SUV that competes against the BYD Atto 3.

Intro Synergy, a sister company of Go Auto, previously a distributor for GWM, has confirmed that the Malaysian market Neta X will be offered in two variants - the 400 and 500.

The entry 400 variant will be powered by a 52 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a claimed driving range of 401 km (CLTC test cycle).

The higher range 500 variant will use a bigger 62 kWh LFP battery, good enough for a claimed driving range of 501 km (CLTC).

Both variants are drive by the same 163 PS motor.

The Neta X 400 is estimated to be priced at under RM 125k (excluding registration fees, insurance, and other charges). The higher range Neta X 500 will start at under RM 140k. For comparison, the BYD Atto 3 starts from RM 150,430 (on-the-road excluding insurance).

For now, the Neta X will be imported from China. Local assembly is mulled, but if it happens it will have to be after the launch of the CKD Neta Aya (facelift, renamed Neta V-II), earliest by the second half of 2025.

Neta has appointed NexV Manufacturing, a joint venture between two local companies - CarePlus Group and Go Auto - to do contract manufacturing of the Neta Aya. 

Production is slated to begin at the company's plant in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, by the end of this year (2024).

The Neta X will be open for pre-bookings on Monday (6-May) at all Neta dealers. Online bookings are also accepted at Neta.my.
