    • UMW Toyota to launch 2 EVs starting 2022 – Lexus UX 300e and Toyota bZ4X for Malaysia

Now this is a big surprise - UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) will be launching two EV models in Malaysia starting 2022, and by EV, we mean battery electric vehicle (BEV) type. This has been confirmed by reliable sources familiar with the matter.UMWT’s first EV model will be launched in 2022, while another model will follow in 2023.No further details were shared but Toyota / Lexus don’t have a lot of EV models on sale so it’s not difficult to guess the potential candidates for Malaysia.

    • Premium yet reliable, Toyota Harrier vs Lexus UX - Which is your perfect SUV?

If you have RM 250k or thereabouts for a premium SUV, frankly youd be spoiled for choice, Mercedes-Benz GLA and BMW X1 being the most obvious candidates. But how about a Japanese face-off for today? Were talking about the Toyota Harrier and Lexus UX. Yes they are cars from different segments but in terms of price, they are perilously close to each other. • Lexus UX vs Mercedes-Benz GLA vs BMW X1 - which is best for you?

The Lexus UX is a relative newcomer to the hotly-contested compact premium SUV segment - going up against established rivals from the likes of the BMW X1, and Mercedes-Benz GLA. The new CKD Mercedes-Benz GLA has renewed interest in this segment. This also leaves the Lexus UX as the only made-in-Japan (CBU) model of the bunch. With that said, how does the Lexus fare against CKD German rivals, CBUs typically mean higher prices, but does the Lexus UX justify its asking price in this company?Overvie

    • Lexus is not doing so well in Japan and it's all the Harrier and Alphard's fault

A product of the glorious Bubble Era when Japanese spending power was one of the highest in the world, the Lexus brand is billed as Toyota’s challenger against established players like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Cadillac. Though the brand is a symbol of perfection and luxury around the world, it is shunned in Japan.According to sales data provided by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JADA), the Toyota Alphard sold 106,579 units between April 2020 and March 2021, placing 4th.
