Spied: All-new 2020 Subaru Levorg without camo, Malaysia debut in 2021?

The all-new, second-generation Subaru Levorg has been caught undisguised in Japan, possibly hinting at a debut real soon.

Thanks to Creative311, this marks the first time the all-new Levorg has been spotted on public roads, as the model was confined to motors shows previously.

Looks familiar?

Speaking of motor show, the Levorg seen here is practically identical to the one we saw back at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. Although the wheels look different, the report from Creative311 mentioned that the wheels are covered in camouflage.

To recap, the all-new, second-generation Subaru Levorg is based on the brand-new SGP (Subaru Global Platform) architecture, like the Subaru Impreza, Subaru XV, and Subaru Forester.

All-new engine as well

Unlike the current-generation model’s 1.6- and 2.0-litre turbocharged engines, the all-new Levorg is powered by a new 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that does 200 PS and 294 Nm.

The all-new Levorg was initially scheduled for a debut in Japan later in July, but the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic could postpone the debut.

Coming to Malaysia?

Considering that the current-generation Subaru Levorg was sold via TC Subaru in Malaysia, the all-new generation model could be on the cards as well.

That said, don’t expect the all-new Levorg to be cheap, as the outgoing model was priced at an eye-watering RM 206,000. Our revised tax structure and Ringgit's poor performance against foreign currencies could push the all-new Levorg's price up by a fair bit.
