All-new 2024 BMW X2 unveiled as the sexier X1, up to 317 PS/400 Nm

BMW has unveiled the all-new second-generation 2024 BMW X2, essentially the coupe version of the BMW X1.

Notable changes include unique LED headlights and a hexagonal kidney grille that’s available with the BMW Iconic Glow (illuminated grille). Also on the options list are Adaptive LED Headlights with non-dazzling matrix high beam.

The X2 has grown in size, offering more cabin and cargo space. It measures 4,554 mm in length and 1,845 mm in width, making it 194 mm longer and 21 mm wider than its predecessor. It's also 64 mm taller, standing at 1,590 mm. Wheelbase has grown by 22 mm to 2,692 mm.

The optional M Sport package enhances the front and rear bumpers, and opting for the M Sport package Pro adds extended M High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim, M lights Shadowline, an M rear spoiler, M Sport braking system with red callipers, plus other racy elements.

The entry-level petrol version is the X2 sDrive20i, equipped with a mild-hybrid 1.5-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder engine generating 170 PS and 280 Nm.

The X2 M35i xDrive boasts a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 300 PS (317 PS in US and other markets) and 400 Nm. Both engines are paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The AWD M Performance model accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and features M-specific chassis tuning, standard adaptive M suspension with frequency-selective damping, sport steering, and a 15 mm reduction in ride height. M Compound brakes are available as an option.

Inside, it mirrors the latest X1 with the dual-widescreen displays measuring 10.25-inch for the instrument cluster and 10.7-inch for the infotainment display, running on the updated BMW Operating System 9.

The BMW OS9 features QuickSelect rapid-access and supports customisable digital services and offers Remote Software Upgrades for enhancing and expanding functions in the future.

The Augmented View function is available as an optional add-on for the cloud-based BMW Maps navigation system. In addition to this, a Personal eSIM designed for 5G mobile technology, the BMW Digital Key Plus, the BMW ID functionality and standard smartphone integration using both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available in the new BMW X2.

Standard safety features comprise Front Collision Warning, Cruise Control with brake function, Speed Limit Info, Lane Departure Warning with lane return, and the Parking Assistant with Reversing Assist Camera.
