Arifin Tasrif, Indonesia's Energy Minister said on Monday that the country aims to only sell electric vehicles (EVs) and motorcycles by 2050, in yet another push for clean transportation, reports Reuters.
Tasrif said that this means all motorcycles sold from 2040 will be electric-powered, while all new cars will be electrified by 2050.
Of course, this isn't the only move the country is taking in the face of the burgeoning EV market.
So far, they've started using EVs only for government cars, easing loan processes for residents to buy EVs, and they even have a government-owned battery company.

Indonesia has much to gain from cleaning up emissions, considering the world's fourth-most populous nation has more than 15 million cars and 112 million motorcycles on its roads.
Over the last ten years, an average of 6.5 million motorcycles and 1 million cars were sold there.
