Yet to arrive in Malaysia, 2022 Hyundai Palisade facelift spied in Korea!

While the model arrived in Southeast Asia pretty recently, it has been on sale in other markets like the U.S.A. and South Korea since 2018. Hence, Hyundai will be giving the Palisade a mid-cycle refresh by 2022.

Based on these spy photos provided by the “Palisade Pure Owners Club”, there isn’t much to say about the changes given that the front and rear are completely wrapped up in black cladding. Perhaps the visual changes might be minor given the car has been only introduced in most markets very recently.

The current pre-facelift Palisade is available with three engine options depending on the market – a 3.5-litre (277 PS/335 Nm) and 3.8-litre (295 PS/355 Nm) V6 petrol engines as well as a 2.2-litre diesel unit (200 PS/441 Nm).

It’s very likely that these engines will be carried over into the facelift model though some media speculate that the turbocharged 2.5-litre SmartStream inline-4 engine (304 PS/422 Nm) from the Genesis GV80 could be introduced on the facelift.

Based on our previous news, the Palisade that is arriving in Malaysia would be available with the 3.8-litre V6. The 7-seater SUV will be chock full of features including a heads-up display and an innovative roof vent diffuser that Hyundai claims will direct air better to the rear passengers.

Though HSDM has yet to announce when it will arrive or how many variants will be offered, we can expect it to be quite expensive. The Indonesian-spec Palisade starts from IDR 777 million (~RM 223,000) making it the most expensive Hyundai model in the archipelago.
