Naza Italia, the official importer and distributor of Ferrari brand in Malaysia, has introduced the Ferrari Roma. Based on the Ferrari Portofino, the Ferrari Roma is an entry-level grand tourer that goes against the likes of Aston Martin Vantage and McLaren GT.
It measures 4,656 mm long, 1,974 mm wide, and 1,301 mm tall. Wheelbase stretches at 2,670 mm, identical to the Portofino. Weight however, is lower than the Portofino by 94 kg, weighing in at 1,570 kg.
The Ferrari Roma wears a set of 20-inch wheels, with tyres measuring 245/35 ZR20 at the front and 285/35 ZR20 at the rear.
Roma is the Italian name for Rome and Ferrari says it’s a contemporary reinterpretation of the carefree lifestyle of mid-twentieth century Rome. Unlike most contemporary Ferraris, the Roma’s design is clean and curvy, devoid of massive vents and intakes with body sculptures heavily influenced by aerodynamic.
Speaking of aero, it has a discrete active rear wing that deploys in three different positions depending on downforce requirements. At maximum attack mode, it is able to generate up to 95 kg of downforce at 250 km/h.
At the heart of the Roma sits a 3.9-litre turbocharged V8 producing 620 PS (20 PS more than the Portofino) and 760 Nm of torque. An 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, which is derived from the SF90 Stradale, sends power to the rear wheels.
0-100 km/h is completed in 3.4 seconds and top speed is rated at over 320 km/h.
On the inside, it’s a symmetrical-ish cabin to which Ferrari calls Dual Cockpit. It’s a design that wraps around both the driver and the passenger.
Though the main attraction would be the ginormous 16-inch digital instrument cluster that can be personalized to display the traditional rev counter or even a full-screen navigation.
At the centre, there’s an 8.4-inch infotainment display set in between the two cockpits. On the passenger side, there’s an optional 8.8-inch screen that not only displays various information, but also used to interact with the on-board system to select music or adjust the climate control.
As with all new Ferraris sold, the Ferrari Roma comes with a 7-year warranty with a 7-year maintenance programme that covers all regular maintenance.
The Ferrari Roma starts at a base price of RM 968,000 before duties, options, taxes and insurance. Interested buyers can contact Naza Italia to schedule a private viewing from now until 29 June. Deliveries are expected to commence next year.
