Malaysian pop star wins a RM 182k Nissan Leaf

Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM), the official vehicle sponsor for Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 2020 (ABPBH), presented a new Nissan Leaf to the grand prize winner, Haqiem Rusli.

The fully-electric Leaf is worth RM 181,263 and generates an estimated 311 km range on a full charge of 40 kWh battery (NEDC test mode). The electric vehicle (EV) produces 320Nm allowing it to make the 0-100km/h sprint in 7.9 seconds.

The EV also comes complete with Nissan Intelligent Mobility advanced safety technologies such as e-Pedal, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking, and Intelligent Around View Monitor (360° camera), plus an array of luxurious interior appointments.

During the presentation ceremony, ETCM’s Sales and Marketing Director, Mr Christopher Tan said, “It was our pleasure to collaborate with Anugerah Bintang Popular 2020 Berita Harian as this contest recognizes Malaysian artistes’ hard work and dedication in growing the local entertainment industry.

“We would like to congratulate Haqiem Rusli on his win and driving home the 100 percent EV Nissan Leaf. He now joins the EV family and will be part of our sustainability efforts in supporting the nation’s aspiration, as well as accelerate the global movement to become more environmental conscious towards a sustainable future.”

The 23-year-old singer, composer, and actor from Selangor was announced the winner of Bintang Paling Popular on 13 November 2020 after collecting a total of 22,332,676 votes. He also won Penyanyi Bintang Popular and Lagu Paling Boom Popular with the song titled ‘Lembah Kesepian’.

Established in 1987, ABPBH is an annual event organised by Berita Harian to bestow awards to the most popular Malaysian artistes in the Malaysian entertainment industry based on votes by readers of Berita Harian and Berita Minggu.
