Experience the BYD Atto 3 at the RHB DRIVE Premium & EV Roadshow, Pavilion Bukit Jalil this weekend!

As far as electric vehicles (EVs) in Malaysia go, the BYD Atto 3 sticks out like a sore thumb – and not for bad reasons. With a price tag starting from RM 149,800, it sits squarely in the sights of combustion-engine rivals, making it quite the compelling option for those looking to jump headfirst into sustainable mobility yet not compromising on practicality.

And it's not just a novel one-trick pony that only has its emissions-free powertrain to talk about. For the money, you'll be getting an EV with all the positives you need plus some wow factor thrown in, and here's a list of features you shouldn't miss trying out at this weekend's RHB DRIVE Premium & EV Roadshow:

Enticing interior, loads of tech

Once you're done admiring the exterior with its sleek lines and design details, heading into the Atto 3 will no less be an enticing affair.

Within the confines of its stylish green-on-white cabin, you'll find a similarly-tech laden interior, headlined by none other than the 12.8-inch rotating infotainment touchscreen. Equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the funky screen also controls important in-car features.

Completing the rest of the cabin includes features like automatic air-conditioning (with rear vents), 360-degree camera, multiple USB ports, and an 8-speaker Dirac audio system.

Spacious cabin

Despite its rather compact outlook, the BYD Atto 3 is reasonably spacious. For adults, there's at least 1 tennis ball of headroom at the rear, and a expansive 3 tennis balls' worth of legroom.

Not only that, we've noted that how the seating is designed is another job well done; your legs can rest well on the cushions, and you can extend your feet all the way to under the front seats. Makes long-distances a cinch.

Boot volume is a heady 440 litres; larger than the X50 and HR-V, and equalling the Corolla Cross. Flatten the rear seats and you have 1,340 litres – more than enough when some furniture hunting is on the agenda!

Long range and quiet drive

The BYD Atto 3 comes in two guises, the Standard Range (SR, 49.92 kWh battery), and the Extended Range (ER, 60.48 kWh battery). Claimed range for the SR is 345 km, while the ER can do 420 km, both tested on the WLTP cycle.

Regardless of the variant you go for, both batteries are of the Lithium-Ion Phosphate (LFP) 'Blade' variety,  which offers both space-saving capabilities, greater life cycle, and enhanced safety in the event of overheating.

The Atto 3 supports up to 7 kW AC (Type 2) charging, and up to 80 kW DC (CCS2) charging. At the higher input rate, 0-80% can be reached in just 45 minutes. Not to forget it's got Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function too, to power other devices.

But at the event, take the time to feel the instant acceleration from the 204 PS/310 Nm electric motor affords; combine that with its quiet and comfortable ride, it's an experience not to be missed!

No better time to own a BYD Atto 3!

Experience the Atto 3 at the RHB DRIVE Premium & EV Roadshow this weekend (2- to 4-June 2023, Piazza, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, 10 am to 10 pm) and discover how you can become a proud owner of one with RHB Green Financing.
