COTY 2020: Mitsubishi Xpander, vote for your favourite 7-seater

As you know, Wapcar is holding our first-ever Car of the Year awards and you’re invited to cast your votes! One of the nominees in our 7-Seater Family Car of the Year award is the 2020 Mitsubishi Xpander. Though late to the game in Malaysia, here’s why the SUV deserves your attention.

Although the Xpander is ranked as a B-segment, the interior feels larger than its competitors which is not a surprise since the Xpander's wheelbase does measure longer than the Toyota Innova. Other than the acclaimed 18 cupholders, the Xpander also has so many other compartments for your use that you wouldn’t be left wanting for more.

The SUV feels larger because it measures much longer than its rivals at 4,475 x 1,750 x 1,730 mm in length, width, and height and has a wheelbase of 2,775 mm.

So, it’s not a surprise that the Xpander offers the most spacious third-row seat amongst the 7-seater SUV competitors.

To add on, the car also drives well, the suspension is tuned for a supple ride allowing the Xpander to be a comfortable highway cruiser for the entire family.

The Xpander also offers modern tech like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on a crisp 9-inch touchscreen display. Mitsubishi has also made sure to include a useful 360-degree view of the car so it is easier to get into manoeuvre around tight spaces.

With all these features offered on the Xpander, this is why the SUV made it onto our WapCar Car of the Year awards nominee list of best 7-Seater Family Car of the Year.

The Xpander will go up against fellow 7-seaters that were also launched in 2020 like the 2020 Honda BR-V facelift, 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, 2020 Kia Grand Carnival, 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB, and the 2020 Mazda CX-9.
