As the country continues to observe MCO, restaurants are scrambling to cope with the no dine-in restrictions with various methods like promos, creative menu items, and free delivery. But Padi House, a local restaurant chain, has come up with a way to serve the fussy eaters that prefer their food fresh off the wok with an in-car dining experience called #HidanganKereta.
The new concept allows diners to dine in the comforts of their cars. After you have made your order, staff will fit a makeshift table on your steering wheel so you don’t have to find a surface to place your meal.
Don’t worry, the staff will be equipped with sanitisers, face shields, and they are required to wear gloves while they work to reduce the risk of spreading the Covid-19 virus. You will only be served after you have scanned your body temperature and check-in on MySejahtera.
Right now, only Padi House Prima Avenue Cyberjaya has this service while other branches like Padi House Nadayu 99 Cyberjaya, Padi House Lake Fields Sungai Besi, and TokioKafe Cyberjaya will start #HidanganKereta services soon.
Since you are dining in your own car, not only will you get to enjoy your food freshly made but also continue to observe social distancing the entire time! We wonder if Padi House learned the trick from the uncle who set up a camping table in his car to enjoy dining out in his car.

There isn’t a time in memory that doesn’t involve staring at cars. After discovering the excitement of watching Schumacher vs Hakkinen, Formula 1 became a major part of life. The love for cars and F1 ultimately led to a job with CAR Magazine. The untimely death of the magazine meant a hiatus from cars at lifestyle women’s magazine Marie Claire before another opportunity came knocking again.
