Priced from RM 286k, the G01 2021 BMW X3 20i is cheaper than a GLC 200, but would you buy one?

Alongside the long-wheelbase BMW 330 Li M Sport, BMW Malaysia has also launched the BMW X3 sDrive20i – a new variant of the BMW X3 lineup. It’s locally-assembled (CKD) and priced at RM 286,674 (OTR without insurance, with SST discount and extended warranty + service package).

The BMW X3 sDrive20i is powered by a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 184 PS at 5,000 – 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 300 Nm at 1,350 – 4,000 rpm. 

It’s capable of a century sprint in 8.2 seconds, and records a top speed of 215 km/h. Transmission is offered in the form of an 8-speed automatic transmission, sending power exclusively to the rear wheels.

Exterior kit includes LED headlamps, xLine trim, and 19-inch alloy wheels in Y-Spoke Style 694. Trim elements such as the window surrounds are finished in satin metal.

Inside, there are sports seats (electric seat adjustment with memory function on the driver’s side), velour floor mats, ambient lighting, and the three-zone automatic air conditioning system.

There’s also the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant which is a voice assistant, 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and Hi-Fi sound system.

Safety wise, the BMW X3 sDrive20i comes with Parking Assistant and Driving Assistant package that includes Lane Change Warning, Crossing Traffic Warning, Rear Collision Warning, Speed Limit Assist, Lane Departure Warning with active steering intervention, Forward Collision Warning with brake intervention (AEB).

As for colour options, the BMW X3 sDrive20i is offered in Alpine White, Glacier Silver, Black Sapphire, and Phytonic Blue. All exterior offerings are paired with black Leather Vernasa upholstery with black stitching.

  • xDrive30i Luxury - RM 304,234
  • xDrive30i M Sport - 324,163

*prices are on-the-road without insurance, with sales tax exemption and extended warranty + service package.

The New BMW X3 sDrive20i is now available at all authorised BMW dealerships in Peninsular Malaysia, and will be available in East Malaysia starting 20th April 2021.
