Built on evolved Taycan platform, Audi A6 e-tron concept debuts at 2021 Shanghai Auto Show

The Audi A6 e-tron concept has debuted at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show. Sporting similar dimensions as the regular A6, the A6 e-tron concept is built on a dedicated EV platform called the PPE (Premium Platform Electric).

Featuring large 22-inch wheels and short overhangs, the flat cabin of the A6 e-tron and the wide coupe roof arch give the vehicle proportions reminiscent of a sports car.

Also obvious on the A6 e-tron are sleek side view cameras.

The PPE platform is a further development from the J1 platform used for the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT. It will also be the underpinning of the upcoming all-electric Porsche Macan.

The Audi e-tron GT and Porshe Taycan are built on the J1 platform.

According to Audi, the battery size and wheelbase of PPE vehicles are scalable, making them suitable for use in different market segments.

The J1 platform will remain as the more luxurious and sportier platform as demonstrated in the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT.

Powering the Audi A6 e-tron concept are two electric motors that provide a total power of 475 PS and a total torque of 800 Nm. The all-electric A6 is capable of a century sprint time of less than 4 seconds.

Charging-wise, the A6 e-tron is capable of 270 kW DC fast charging which is capable of charging the 100-kWh battery from 5-80% in less than 25 minutes.

With a fully charged battery, the A6 e-tron has range of more than 700 km.

The Audi A6 e-tron is the first vehicle to be built on the PPE platform and many more will come in the future.
