The new 2020 Lexus LC 500 sheds 10 kg, priced from RM 1.25 mil

Making its first debut as a production car in 2017, the Lexus LC 500 is Lexus’s idea of what a grand tourer should be. The “LC” itself stands for Luxury Coupe. The year 2020 sees a huge number of enhancements on the LC 500 in terms of safety, luxury, and performance.

Inside the luxurious cockpit, one sits behind a 5.0 litre V8 by Lexus (2UR-GSE) producing 470 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque. Weighing just under two tonnes, this luxury grand tourer is rather quick with a 4.4 seconds 0-100km/h time.

The 2020 LC 500 has shed 10 kilograms of weight from the 21-inch wheels and the front lower arms. New additions to the performance include a new Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and a new rear performance damper. Most components have been tweaked to provide better handling of the vehicle.

Two exterior colour options are added; Blazing Carnelian Contrast Layering and Terrane Khaki Mica Metallic. Likewise on the inside; Flare Red or Black and Orange are now available. The car also features Power Easy Access which slides the driver seat back once the engine is off, making egress ever more convenient.

The new LC 500 also now comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and their functions are displayed via a 10.3-inch Electro Multi Vision (EMV) high definition screen that is capable of displaying pin-sharp 24:9 HD (1280x480) videos and images.

Safety wise, the new LC 500 includes a host of Lexus Safety System + (LSS+) features. These include the Front Pre-Collision System (PCS), Automatic High Beam (AHB), Lane Keeping System and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC). The LC 500 is equipped with 8 airbags and a new park feature that shifts the into “P” when the door is open to avoid accidental runaways.

With a price tag of RM 1,250,000 and a comprehensive five-year unlimited warranty, the new LC 500 is available for booking at Lexus outlets nationwide.

Toyota's Kinto is getting bored, finds a way to make the AH30 Alphard and Vellfire sliding doors close faster

You know how some cars can be truly fantastic except for one minor detail that you just can’t overlook and it ends up ruining the entire driving experience. It could be a terrible head unit or a bad seating position. Well, some of the engineers at Toyota’s Kinto subscription service thought that could be the abysmally slow speed of the sliding doors on the previous AH30 generation of the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Either that or they must be getting really bored over there. Or someone has secr

You might be aware that Malaysia prohibits the import of electric vehicles (EVs) priced below RM 100,000, and this is indeed accurate. The rationale behind this policy, driven by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), is actually sound when you consider their goal of attracting investments in the EV sector. In the world of technology, most of the valuable stuff is in the higher-end product range. Cheaper electric cars have minimal technological sophistication; they're kind of li
