South East Asia's most successful Porsche model, this here is the 2023 Porsche Cayenne facelift that's just been launched in Malaysia.
As before this variant is locally-assembled (CKD Kulim, Kedah), and priced from RM 599,999, before insurance, road tax, and optional extras.
Other variants – Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo GT – will continue to be fully-imported (CBU).
In terms of exterior changes, the front fascia benefits from resculptured wings, hood, and headlamps that better emphasises the car's width. The rear end's similarly got its own nip-and-tuck as well; the biggest changes are the redesigned tail lamps and the relocation of the number plate to the lower apron.
For standard kit, our cars get the high-gloss black exterior package, body-coloured roof spoiler, black aluminium roof rails, and an automatic tailgate. Lighting remains with the Matrix LED units upfront, with three-dimensional graphics for the ones at the back.
20-inch Cayenne Design wheels are standard, and there's a choice of three colours at no additional costs: Carrera White Metallic, Chromite Black Metallic, and Quartz Grey Metallic.

The interior has also been suitably updated, with a redesigned display and control system within. For the driver sits a 12.6-inch digital instrument binnacle, while a 12.3-inch touchscreen display controls the infotainment and navigation.
Also standard fitment is the Bose Surround Sound System with 14 speakers (including subwoofer), with a total output of 710 watts.
14-way comfort seats with memory function (and embossed with the Porsche crest on the headrest) are the norm for the front seats; and buyers can have their cabin in full smooth-finish black leather, or spruce it up the two-tone black and Bordeaux Red combination.
Also note that soft-close doors and Sport Chrono Package are standard fare in the locally-assembled Cayenne.
On the powertrain front, Porsche lists the Cayenne to pack the revised 3.0-litre V6 turbo engine that generates 353 PS and 500 Nm, which is 13 PS and 50 Nm more than before. The transmission remains the 8-speed Tiptronic S gearbox.
Handling roadholding duties are the PASM adaptive air suspension and Power Steering Plus; items which are optional extras in other markets but available here as standard fare.
On the safety front, the CKD Cayenne comes with warning and brake assist (including pedestrian protection), front and rear Park Assist with Surround View, and also Adaptive Cruise Control.
Further personalisation options are available for the Cayenne, including the 21-inch Cayenne Exclusive Design wheels and 22-inch Sport Design wheels, and customers can also add on rear-seat entertainment systems and other Tequipment accessories.
The sky's the limit with the latter; there's things like a roof tent, performance roof box, rear bike carrier, pet carrier, and more...
