W205 Mercedes-Benz C200 sold out in Malaysia, W206 C-Class confirmed to launch soon

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) confirms that the Mercedes-Benz C200 (W205) has been sold out here, leaving the C300 AMG Line as the sole W205 variant still on sale.

This comes ahead of the introduction of the all-new 2022 W206 Mercedes-Benz C-Class in Malaysia, but an official timeline for when the new model will arrive hasn't been shared yet.

Upon introduction, prices of the new-generation C-Class will be dearer than its predecessor, owing to its fully-imported (CBU) status. Local assembly (CKD) will start later on, which should see prices dropping slightly then.

For context, the C200 AMG Line was last sold here for RM 251,587, while the C300 AMG Line goes for RM 291,800.

This is nothing extraordinary as we've seen the same arrangement happen with the W205, where CKD variants followed roughly 6 months after the first CBU units were sold. It's safe to expect a similar timeline for the W206-generation.

Although yet to be advertised on MBM's official website, cursory checks point that several sales associates have begun accepting registration of interest for the W206.
