Sony’s electric car, the Sony VISION-S has arrived in Japan for further development. Unveiled at Las Vegas and later returned to the engineering facility in Graz, the VISION-S is moving on to road testing in Tokyo.
Like most electric cars, the VISION-S has floor mounted batteries and reports some fast numbers. 0-100 km/h is achieved in 4.8 s and maximum velocity is 240 km/h. Total power output is 400 kW or 542 PS.
No further information has been revealed on the battery system of the car. Power is sent to all 4-wheels.
The VISION-S is equipped with multiple cameras, radars, and LiDAR sensors. It also comes with VISION-S Link which allows seamless connection with the driver’s mobile devices.
Size wise, the VISION-S is about the size of a Tesla Model S (slightly smaller). It uses double wish-bones in the front and rear.
The Sony VISION-S is a result of the collaboration between Sony and other industry leaders including Bosch, Continental, Genetex, Magna and Nvidia.
