BMW Malaysia introduces CKD 330i M Sport, priced from RM 288,800

BMW Malaysia today unveiled the new BMW 330i M Sport, the latest addition to the premium automaker’s locally-assembled portfolio. Assembled in Kulim, the 330i M Sport now retails for RM 288,800, an RM 40,000 reduction when compared to the imported model.

Harald Hoelzl, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia said, “We introduced the seventh generation of the world’s best-selling premium sports sedan earlier this year, raising the bar yet again in its segment. While the fully imported variant has seen over 350 new owners in merely six months, the locally-assembled BMW 330i M Sport introduced today is set to continue writing the success story of the ultimate sports sedan.”

Hoelzl added that the new model is locally-assembled at its facility in Kulim which also assembles eight other BMW models, with a total of ten variants. He said, “Beyond providing our customers a wider mix of products in addition to our offering of fully imported models, we are pleased to once again deliver on our promise to growing our investments in the country as Malaysia continues to grow as a hub for the BMW Group in South East Asia.”

The locally-assembled BMW 330i M Sport upholds the same level of innovation in technology and stunning characteristics as the model’s imported counterpart, including the unmistakable athletic design and dynamic performance synonymous to the iconic sports sedan.

Standard features on the locally-assembled 330i M Sport include:

  • 18-inch style 790 M light alloy wheels
  • Blue-painted brake callipers
  • Adaptive LED headlights
  • M Sport multifunction steering wheels
  • Interior ambient lighting
  • Intelligent Personal Assistant
  • Digital Key
  • Park Assist
  • Reverse Assist
  • 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
  • 10.25-inch Control Display

Powered by a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, the New BMW 330i M Sport generates a top speed of 250 km/h and outputs 190 kW/258 hp with a peak torque of 400 Nm from 1,550 to 4,400 rpm. It also makes the century sprint in 5.8 seconds. With the updated 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, the vehicle only consumes 6.4 litre of fuel for every 100km. The reduced carbon emissions of 147g/km is optimised by a particulate filter included in the exhaust treatment system.

Owners can look forward to a lighter, more rigid vehicle as the total weight has been reduced by 25 kilograms (kerb weight of 1,545kg). With a drag coefficient of 0.23, the vehicle boasts best-in-class aerodynamics. The rigidity levels of the body structure and suspension attachment have been greatly enhanced as well, with a 50:50 axle load distribution and a low centre of gravity. The M Sport suspension will highlight BMW’s first-ever lift-related dampers that exemplify an innovative damping system.

Colour offerings for the New BMW 330i M Sport include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and Mineral Grey. Colour offerings in Portimao Blue will be available from January 2020 onwards while Sunset Orange will be available from March 2020 onwards. Inside, owners have a choice of Black Vernasca leather upholstery or Cognac Vernasca leather upholstery.

The New BMW 330i M Sport is now available for test drive at all authorised BMW dealerships nationwide.

With the Balloon Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the New BMW 330i M Sport can be owned with monthly instalment plans starting from RM 3,298.00 (based on estimates of an 80% loan on a five-year tenure).

Toyota's Kinto is getting bored, finds a way to make the AH30 Alphard and Vellfire sliding doors close faster

You know how some cars can be truly fantastic except for one minor detail that you just can’t overlook and it ends up ruining the entire driving experience. It could be a terrible head unit or a bad seating position. Well, some of the engineers at Toyota’s Kinto subscription service thought that could be the abysmally slow speed of the sliding doors on the previous AH30 generation of the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Either that or they must be getting really bored over there. Or someone has secr

Review: BYD Dolphin in Malaysia - A solid choice for EV beginners, except for one thing

You might be aware that Malaysia prohibits the import of electric vehicles (EVs) priced below RM 100,000, and this is indeed accurate. The rationale behind this policy, driven by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), is actually sound when you consider their goal of attracting investments in the EV sector.
