Proton launches new logo and tagline, X70 CKD first to receive new logo

Two years after partnering with Geely, Proton announced today a new logo today and new tagline to mark a new chapter in the company's growth.

The new, almost 'Thundercat-like' logo, is an evolution of Proton's current Malaysian tiger motive design, but has been polished further to emphasize the four core elements of the brand's message - strength, agility, courageous, and pride.

 

Mercedes-AMG A35 Sedan launched in Malaysia

The hot Mercedes-AMG A35 Sedan has just landed in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM 348,888.

Power is derived from a 2.0-litre M260 turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that does 306 PS at 5,800 rpm and 400 Nm from 3,000 rpm to 4,000 rpm. Drive is transferred to all four wheels via the 7-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The compact sports sedan completes the century sprint in just 4.8 seconds, before reaching an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h.

See the evolution of Proton’s logo from 1985 till today

At the launch of Proton’s new logo, the company also showcased the previous logos that they used since the first Saga in 1985.

Then in 1992 with the introduction of the Iswara, Proton introduced a refined version of its first logo, incorporating a smaller overall design and rounded edges. The Iswara is also the only Proton model to date that features the logo on door trims on each side of the car.

Jaguar I-Pace SVR will come as battery-electric SUV

The boss of Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations arm has confirmed it’s a question of “when, not if” the firm builds an SVR version of the I-Pace battery-electric SUV.

It’s likely SVO would look to upgrade the existing car’s 395bhp output to bring the 0-62mph time down significantly from 4.8 seconds.

New Nissan Patrol debuts with striking new design and features

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (Sept. 24, 2019) – Nissan today unveiled the new 2020 Nissan Patrol, with enhancements that offer customers even higher levels of sophistication, comfort, safety and connectivity.

All-terrain Patrol power is provided by the strongest V6 and V8 engines in the segment. The base 4.0-liter V6 produces 275 horsepower and 394 Nm of torque. The 5.6-liter V8 produces 400 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque.

Nissan and Ghosen to settle SEC claims: No parties acknowledge the corn

The SEC charged Nissan for omitting more than $140 million from Ghosen’s retirement. As for Carlos Ghosen, the chairman and chief executive of Nissan's French partner Renault, was accused of concealing more than $90 million of compensation.

SEC states that Nissan will pay $15 million, while Ghosen to receive a $1 million penalty and will not engage in any publicly traded U.S entities as an executive for a decade.
