No strings attached, the 6MT, 280 PS Renault Megane R.S. 280 Cup is now available for subscription

TC Euro Cars, the sole franchise holder of Renault vehicles in Malaysia today announced that Renault Subscription is now available for the recently launched Renault Megane R.S. 280 Cup.

For the first time in Malaysia, consumers can enjoy a unique “ownership” experience of an exciting performance machine without having to fork out a large sum for down payment, service high loan interests, bear the costs of regular service maintenance, be tied down by a long-term hire purchase, or be affected by depreciation value.

The recap, the Renault Megane R.S. 280 Cup is powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 280 PS and 390 Nm of torque. It's available either with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission. It comes with 4-wheel steering and 'Cup' chassis, the latter adds a Torsen LSD.

The 6-speed manual sells for RM 279,888 while the 6-speed automatic sells for RM 299,888.

Rather than paying the above amount up front or be tied down by a long financing period, and still having to pay for insurance, road tax and maintenance, an easier alternative is now available via Renault Subscription, but only for limited units are available.

Renault Subscription offers customers the freedom to choose between two available plans – the Fixed Plan or the Switch Plan.

The Fixed Plan is a more structured plan, available for short periods of one, two or three years, with a monthly usage rate that covers road tax, insurance and regular servicing costs starting from only RM3,999 monthly for the all-new Megane R.S.

No hidden charges, covers all running cost, but comes with mileage cap

Customers who opt for the Switch Plan will enjoy even more freedom and flexibility as they are given access to the full Renault family line-up with no change to the previously announced rates. The Switch Plan offers the Renault Captur with the option of utilising both the Renault Koleos and Megane R.S. within the Subscription period.

Switch is only for Renault Captur, offers unlimited mileage use, freedom to change cars

Furthermore, the Switch Plan comes with no mileage caps, no cancellation penalties and fees are inclusive of insurance, road tax and regular servicing costs. Wear and tear for the Captur is also included under this plan.

Toyota's Kinto is getting bored, finds a way to make the AH30 Alphard and Vellfire sliding doors close faster

You know how some cars can be truly fantastic except for one minor detail that you just can’t overlook and it ends up ruining the entire driving experience. It could be a terrible head unit or a bad seating position. Well, some of the engineers at Toyota’s Kinto subscription service thought that could be the abysmally slow speed of the sliding doors on the previous AH30 generation of the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Either that or they must be getting really bored over there. Or someone has secr

Review: BYD Dolphin in Malaysia - A solid choice for EV beginners, except for one thing

You might be aware that Malaysia prohibits the import of electric vehicles (EVs) priced below RM 100,000, and this is indeed accurate. The rationale behind this policy, driven by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), is actually sound when you consider their goal of attracting investments in the EV sector. In the world of technology, most of the valuable stuff is in the higher-end product range. Cheaper electric cars have minimal technological sophistication; they're kind of li
